Project: The Orchard School, Causeway Green Road, Oldbury, West Midlands, B68 8LD.
Description: Specially designed library and resource area.
Main Contractor: Willmott Dixon Construction.

Furniture Design: CARE (Design & Furniture) Ltd
In this project the client needed some innovative thinking to help inspire the children. A central hub for the whole of the school for reading and resources, this room needed to be something really special.
Although the budget was restrictive there was a requirement for high quality furniture. The bookcases were solid Beech lipped with Beech laminate and 20mm core. A standard that CARE (Design & Furniture) Ltd to prevent the bowing of shelves.
The 'Orchard' tree was designed to help provide an entrance to a quiet reading area where the pupils can relax and read at their leisure, or where a teacher can read for them. The school and the pupils have commented on how impressed they are with the design and the quality workmanship.
